TEaching teamwork & SAFETY

This season may look a little different, but the Y is committed to offering a safe and FUN fall sports season. We are closely following recommendations and guidance from the CDC and local health authorities to implement safety measures for a successful season. Here is what you can expect while participating this fall:

All players, coaches and spectators will be screened prior to entering the sports complex. Anyone with a temperature out of range or who is exhibiting symptoms will be not be allowed to enter.

Social Distancing & Limiting Field Use

All spectators must bring their own chairs (Bleachers will not be used this season).

Fields will be marked with seating, following six feet of distance guidelines.

Team size will be limited based on age group:

Micros: Games will play 3v3, team roster will be maximum 6 players

8U: Games will play 5v5, team roster will be maximum 10 players

10U/12U/14U: Games will play 6v6, team rosters will be maximum 12 players.

There will be no more than 2 teams per field during practice, no scrimmages.

Game times will be adjusted to allow both teams time to leave the playing area before the next group arrives.

There will be a designated holding space/field for the teams who arrive early for their game.

Sanitizing/ Cleaning:

Each Coach will receive their own team bag with balls, cones, goalie shirts, and any necessary equipment.

Each Coach will be responsible for sanitizing their equipment following each practice.

sanitizing stations will be available at the entrance of the YMCA Sports Complex.

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. The benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building confidence, on and off the field. Thank you for joining us this season.
