We are now accepting registration for 3 & 4 yr olds to join our program. Licensed through Bright from the Start, we introduce the students to Creative Curriculum which is based around centers. Preschool is August - May and the children transition into our Camper's in Training Program during the summer. We can provide quality care for your preschooler all day and year round!
Y School participants will receive priority registration for the GA Lottery funded Pre-K program located at our facility.
Children must be potty-trained to attend this program.

The YMCA Pre-K program is a fun and exciting way to introduce your child to school! Using Creative Curriculum as a guide, our teachers arrange their classroom into a variety of learning centers that provide the children with both active and quiet play experiences. The lead teacher is state certified and is assisted by a certified para-professional. All teachers are CPR, First Aid and Fire Safety certified.
We offer seasonal sports programs for all ages. We offer Fall and Spring Soccer as well as Basketball and Cheerleading in the winter. The YMCA is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. The benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the YMCA is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

When school is out the Y is open! Need childcare on school holidays? That is what Holiday Camp is for! Operating from 6:30 am - 6:30 pm, we can provide a day of adventure and fun for your child while you are at work. Children will participate in games, crafts, sports activities & much more! Each holiday has an innovative theme that will entertain, teach and motivate your child. Space is limited so reserve your spot at the Welcome Center.

Effingham YMCA swim lessons are taught by well-trained instructors and focused on creating a student-centered, caring atmosphere. In this program, not only will the swimmer learn basic swimming skills, but there is also a focus on character values, personal safety and survival skills.

We are proud to host the only recreational swim league in Effingham County! In 2013, 2014 and 2015, the Effingham Stingrays won the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc regional championship. Registration is held every spring and our practices begin in May. Practices are held on Monday, Wed, and Fridays throughout the season. Meets are held on Saturday’s beginning in June against other branches of YMCA of Coastal Georgia.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and well being following a cancer diagnosis. The Y creates a welcoming community in which survivors can improve their strength and physical fitness, diminish the severity of side effects, develop supportive relationships, and improve their quality of life.This program is FREE and available to everyone, membership at the YMCA is not required.

We host open gym for volleyball every Saturday evening from 2 pm until 5 pm. Open indoor adult soccer is hosted each Tuesday evening from 5 pm - 8pm. Come work on your skills! Recommended ages are 13 and up. Open gym is co-ed and participants organize the teams and playing time. You can also visit other branches in our association to play volleyball or pickup soccer at differing times. Check the gym schedules at the West Chatham YMCA in Pooler and the Habersham YMCA in mid-town Savannah. Would you like to see other indoor sports added to our Open Gym schedule? This is a free babysitting service for our members, enabling parents to use our YMCA facilities unrestricted. Children are signed in and out of the Child Watch. Parents are required to remain in the YMCA facility when their children are attending Childwatch. The maximum daily stay is 2 hours.
Ages – 6 Weeks – 12 years of age.
Monday – Saturday Mornings: 8:45 am – 12 noon
Monday – Thursday Evenings: 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Bring your child to the Effingham YMCA’s Mother’s Morning Out and treat your child and yourself to a morning break. Your child will participate in fun activities, arts and crafts, games and music. Please pack a sack lunch and label all personal items. Ages – 6 wks – 5 yrs old
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:45 am – 1 pm
RATES: Members $4 /hr/child, Nonmembers $6/hr/child
Join the fun every afternoon in our licensed after-school program. We offer a variety of activities including arts & crafts, large and small group activities, clubs, snack time, field games, and homework time! This school year, we will also implement S.T.E.M. Curriculum which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Transportation provided from Rincon, Blandford and Ebenezer Elementary, Ebenezer Middle School, and Effingham County Middle School.
Our program is licensed through the State of Georgia and our staff is certified in CPR and First Aid.

We are collaborating this school year with the Boy Scouts of America to provide a Scouting Program to the children enrolled in our after school program. If your child is interested in participating in this program please see Heather Smith, Childcare Director.
The Effingham YMCA is offering wellness programs to help you obtain your fit goals. Meetings cover a variety of topics ranging from pain management to stress management to how to read a nutritional label. Check our monthly branch calendar, IN THE KNOW, for wellness events during the month.
The Christian Leadership Academy, a seven month program, is designed to take 12 rising high school sophomores and juniors from Effingham County public and private schools and train them in the skills of leadership done from a Christian perspective.
The purpose of the Christian Leadership Academy is to train today’s students to carry Christian leadership principles into the future world of family, education, church, government, and business. These select students will meet one evening a month, in various local locations, to discuss topics such as: Pursuing Personal Excellence, Discovering Your Purpose in Life, Principles of Christian Leadership in the Home, Being Informed and Involved in Government Leadership, Impacting Your Community Through the Local Church, Personal Financial Responsibility and Stewardship, and Christian Professional Ethics.
All participants will receive a free YMCA membership for one year (September‐August), special local media recognition, award of excellence upon completion of the program, valuable experience that can be added to their personal bio, and possible letters of recommendation used for college applications and/or job applications, priceless lessons from our present community leaders on what real success and Christian leadership look like, and a sense of purpose and direction for their future. Participants will also be required to give 20 hours of volunteer service to the YMCA over the course of the seven month program. Nomination applications should be submitted to the Effingham YMCA by August 24th, 2016. Only 12 students will be selected by the Effingham YMCA Board of Directors for this very unique opportunity.
Classes are offered seasonally for a variety of certification. CPR and First Aid are offered several times per year. Lifeguard training is offered during the spring and summer months.
