We are looking for caring summer camp counselors who want to serve as role models for youth in our community. You’ll help promote positive character values in an outdoor environment while assisting youth in activities such as sports, swimming, arts & crafts and so much more!
Summer Camp Attendant
Location: Islands Family YMCA
Status: Part Time- Monday to Friday, times will vary
Provides indirect supervision of a group of children in a day camp. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
*Assists in supervising groups of children.
*Assists in planning program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
*Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
*Attends staff meetings and trainings.
*Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
*Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
Camp starts on May 21st, trainings begin May 4th. Candidates must be able to attend all trainings.
