Job Description

Membership Services Staff are responsible for providing leadership and support to insure the growth of membership at his/her assigned branch.  In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  1. Be proficient in office skills, including computer operation, record keeping and telephone communications.
  2. Plan and participate in membership retention goals and promotions.
  3. Supervise the scheduling of the building.
  4. Recruit, hire, train and supervise program staff in areas of responsibility.
  5. Assist in the design and implementation of new programs that enhance membership service.
  6. Provide leadership for all membership staff including, but not limited to, demonstrating outstanding customer service, serving as a resource for problem situations and planning appropriate training experiences.
  7. Provide leadership and customer service at the front desk including but not limited to instruction and support for answering telephone, giving tours, receipting all fees received and managing communications with members.

  9. Assist in the design and implementation of new programs that enhance membership service
  10. Assist the Executive Director as needed in managing the branch facilities and programs.
  11. Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service.
  12. Assist in the annual campaign fundraising program for the YMCA.
  13. Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers and program participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Sound working knowledge of customer service skills.
  2. Ability to develop and implement programs and procedures that enhance customer service and retention.
  3. Strong organizational skills / Excellent public speaking skills. / Strong writing skills.
  4. Ability to foster positive staff, peer and program participant relationships.
  5. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  1. CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment
  2. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines
