Effingham YMCA - Housekeeping Staff

Standard closing shift hours are 5pm-9pm.  Friday evenings and rotational weekend shifts are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  1. Inspect the facility to ensure program participant safety and service.
  2. Properly report any facility or equipment issues.
  3. Give tours to prospective members.
  4. Accurately register memberships for new and returning members including proper accounting of bank draft and or invoice memberships.
  5. Accurately report and record membership changes as required.
  6. Answer questions about all YMCA programs and activities by phone or in person.
  7. Receive money, write receipts for program fees and membership, and balance the deposit at the end of the designated shift.
  8. Provide security by verifying memberships of program participants entering the facility.
  9. Register participants for programs and make reservations for facilities as necessary.
  10. Open and/or secure building at the open/close of business as necessary.
  11. Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service.
  12. Assist in the annual fundraising program for the YMCA.
  13. Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, parents and children.

Habersham Child Care Substitute Teacher

Child Care Substitute Teachers are responsible for taking over the basic classroom responsibilities for a teacher when they are not available for their shift. Substitutes will assist teachers in providing basic routine care for children, implementing activities listed on the lesson plans, and providing engaging activities with the children in their classroom. Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the part-time maintenance assistant is responsible for the maintenance of building equipment, pool and overall property at the Islands Family YMCA.  General duties would include lawn maintanance, grounds keeping of common areas and athletic fields, cleaning, painting, and manual labor that often involves lifting great than 30 lbs. This individual must be able to stand on ladders and platforms at heights up to 30 feet.
